NOTKIN, Sam (U.S.A. and Dublin) - March 5, 2012 (peacefully), in his sleep in the wonderful care of the staff at St Vincent's University Hospital, Elm Park; deeply regretted by his loving wife Kay, sister Belle, sons Geoffrey and Andrew, the Kennedy family and his many friends in Ireland and the United States. Sam was a World War II veteran who served with distinction in the 99th Infantry Division and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He joined the U.S. Foreign Service and worked in Paris, Brussels and London. Following a distinguished career in international trade, Sam moved to Dublin where he was active with the Holocaust Educational Trust of Ireland. He was a world class fencer, amateur astronomer, musician and painter. A Service will be held at Mount Jerome Crematorium today (Wednesday) at 3 p.m. Further information from Patrick Massey Funeral Directors at 453 3333. Family flowers only please.
