MULDOWNEY, Professor Francis P. (Frank) (Ballsbridge, Dublin and formerly of Kilkenny) June 14, 2023. Peacefully after a long and happy life, with his beloved family at his side and in the care of the exceptional staff at Newtownpark House. Loving husband of the late Peggy and wonderfully exacting and inspiring father of Peter, William, Maeve, Margaret, Hilary, James, Kathy and Fleur. He will be sadly missed by his marvellous sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, his 20 precious grandchildren and his five great-grandchildren, whose arrival brought him such joy. Removal to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook on Monday morning (June 19, 2023) to arrive for 11.00am Funeral Mass followed by cremation at the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome, Harold’s Cross. Those who would like to attend the Funeral and cannot may view the Mass by logging on to the following link: donnybrookparish.ie/webcam/ Rest in Peace.

Frank Muldowney was a truly great Biomedical researcher who made a world impact through his original work at Vincents. A very exacting man and an excellent teacher, his dismissal of the mediocre was legendary. Frank, Paddy FitzGerald and Risteard Mulcahy shining stars in a dreary environment. RIP all of them
