HEALY, Jerry (Jeremiah Joseph) (Cork, Dublin and Offaly) December 7, 2021 at 12.00 noon in the middle of Storm Barra, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, after a short illness borne with his characteristic good humour and fortitude, to the inexpressible grief of his wife, best friend and soulmate for more than 50 years, Rosemarie Manning, and his adored children, Eibhlín, Kate, David and Lydia and their spouses and partners Iain, James and Finn.“Dadu” to his grandsons Noah and Sam in Brussels, “Grandad Jerry” to his 3 Dublin Grandsons, Lucian, Auberon and “Jerry Baby” (Jeremiah Timothy). He is sadly missed by his adored sister-in-law Marian, his sisters Deirdre, Aileen, Fiona and Frances-Claire, his brother Barry, his brothers-in-law Noel, Gerry, Hugo and Stephen, his sister-in-law Ann, his colleagues and friends at the Cork Bar, the Munster Bar, the Law Library, the Irish Georgian Society and a very wide circle of friends and neighbours in Cork, Dublin and Offaly. “Requiescat in Pace”Lying in repose at his home in Ballybrittan Castle, Edenderry, Co. Offaly, R45 PR27 from 12.00 noon to 4pm today (Thursday). Funeral Mass at 1.00pm tomorrow (Friday) at St Peter’s Church, Rhode, Co. Offaly. Cremation Service at Newlands Cross at 2pm on Saturday December 11. There will be a private interment ceremony of Jerry’s ashes for family and close friends at a later date following a funeral service at St. Finbarr’s Oratory, Gougane Barra, West Cork where Jerry and Rosemarie were married 47 years ago in March 1974. “A great tree has fallen” “Ní fheicimíd a leithéid d’fhear arís”

Thanks to extended family, friends, neighbours, medical and legal colleagues, carers and HSE support teams for your invaluable help and support during Jerrys final illness and death. Each and everyone will be written to and thanked individually in due course.

Jerry was most generous and kind to me during my MLitt research, and welcomed me amny times to his beautiful castle in Offaly. I will miss our conversation​s. I will miss him very much. Condolences to his lovely family. Mairtin D'Alton MRIA
