RUDDOCK, John Alexander (Dalkey, Co. Dublin, and formerly of Villiers School, Limerick and Carlow). Died May 17, 2013. On the First Anniversary of John's death, Gillian, Hugh, Jackie and John's eight beloved grandchildren would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who came to the funeral, wrote wonderful letters, told us so many funny stories and shared so many memories of both John and Doreen with us. It has been a huge comfort to us to know that he has such an affectionate place in so many people's hearts... past pupils, friends and musicians alike. Everyone who knew John knows that he was a tireless and enthusiastic promoter of chamber music for many years. Through his Limerick Music Association, and more recently The Association of Music Lovers, audiences in Limerick, Dublin and further afield experienced chamber music performances of the highest level by Irish and international musicians. We would like to say a special thank you for the many concerts dedicated to John over the past year, including Great Music in Irish Houses, The Irish Chamber Orchestra with Gabor Takacs-Nagy, the Royal Dublin Society and most recently The Drumcliffe Music Festival. The achievements of the LMA/AML were only possible due to audience support, you know who you all are, thank you, all of you.

smile because it happened"
