SHANAHAN Dr Dick, Dromore House, Farranfore, Co Kerry - December 23, 2013 at his home, peacefully after a long illness bravely borne, deeply regretted by his loving wife Bobbie, sons Eamonn, Liam, John and Hugh, daughters Veronica, Caitríona, Paula and Claire, beloved grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, his sister Sr. Kathleen, nephews and nieces, colleagues and friends. Reposing at O'Connor's Funeral Home, Firies on Thursday, December 26 (St Stephen's Day) from 5pm to 8pm with removal to St Gertrude's Church, Firies at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, December 27 at 11am. Burial afterwards in Aghadoe Lawn Cemetery, Killarney. House strictly private. Family flowers only, donations in lieu to Palliative Care Unit, Kerry General Hospital.
SHANAHAN, Dr. Dick (Farranfore, Co. Kerry) - On the First Anniversary of Dick's death, his wife Bobbie, sons Eamonn, Liam, John, Hugh, daughters Veronica, Caitríona, Paula, Claire, and their families wish to express their gratitude to all who sympathised with them in their sad loss: to those who sent Mass cards and messages of condolence; to all who attended the removal and funeral Mass and travelled long distances to be with us. We extend heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation to all who took part in making his funeral Mass a beautiful celebration of Dick's life. Our sincere thanks to all the medical team who cared for Dick throughout his illness. Special thanks to Sheehan Undertakers Farranfore for their kindness and thoughtful assistance with all the arrangements. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.
