SIMMS Christopher (Shankill, Co. Dublin) - October 12, 2015, at St. Vincent's University Hospital, Dublin, to the inconsolable grief of his beloved wife Una, son Michael, daughter-in-law Laia and grandchildren Erin and Aina. Loving husband of the late Sylvia; deeply missed by his brothers Nicholas and John, sisters Katharine (McCone) and Hilary (Frazer) and by his extended family and friends. Removal tomorrow (Thursday) at 1.30pm from Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray to Rathmichael Parish Church, Shankill, Co. Dublin arriving for Funeral Service at 2.00pm, followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired to the Irish Kidney Association."You're going on an awfully big adventure"
SIMMS, Christopher. On the first anniversary of his death, Christopher's wife Una and the Simms family wish to thank the medical and nursing staff who looked after him so well during his ten years illness; Dr. Pat Irwin, Dr. Dearbhla Donnelly, Professor Alan Watson, Dr. John Holian, Dr. David Brophy, Dr. Dilly Little and her transplant team at Beaumont Hospital, Professor Desmond Winter, Professor Hugh Mulcahy, Dr. Donal O'Shea, Dr. David Fennelly, Dr. Eoin Tiernan, Dr Ray Mc Dermott, Nursing Director Mary Connolly, Anne Marie Tyrrell, Catherine Harwood and all the nursing staff on Cedar Ward (SVPH). We are deeply indebted to the Donor Family, who in their own grief donated a kidney that extended Chris's life by ten years. Our thanks to Canon Fred Appleby of Rathmichael Parish and Stephen Collier of Collier Funeral Homes. Our heartfelt thanks to all who sympathised with us on our loss, to all who attended the funeral and supported us at home. Your presence was a tremendous support during our heart-breaking loss. A special thanks to Christopher's close friends Aidan, Bernie, Eugene, Andrew, Enda and Robin.Chris, you reside forever in our hearts
