McCARTHY, Gerry, (late of Skibbereen, Dublin and Cork): January 13, 2019, Writer and Arts Journalist, beloved son of the late Daniel G. and Florence MacCarthy and dearly loved brother of Clare, Flor, Dan and the late Barry. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, friends, chess mates and the wider arts community. A gathering of family and friends will take place at the Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy on tomorrow (Friday) at 3pm. All welcome. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to Cancer Research.

I'd like to pass on my condolences to Gerry's family. I only knew Gerry from talking online but he was a funny and lovely man. I'm very sad to hear of his passing. RIP Gerry. X
