DEMPSEY - Dr Brendan, April 6, 2023.
This weekend, as we mark the first anniversary of the death of our beloved Brendan, we, his family, Eimir, Conor, Jeremiah, Brendan and Greta, together with their spouses, Jean, Sue, Andrea and Alan, his beloved grandchildren, Laura, Eve, Shane, Tom, Sarah-Jane, Faye, Harry, Joe, Rachel, Isabel, Georgia, Natasha and Billy and his brother, Gerry, wish to express our deep appreciation to everybody who supported us in so many ways, at the time of his passing and every day since.
Our profound gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses, Carers and Staff of Blackrock Clinic and of The Royal Hospital, Donnybrook, who cared for him with such dedication, empathy and professionalism throughout his prolonged illness, in particular, Dr Rory McQuillan of Blackrock and Dr Lisa Cogan of Donnybrook, who gave so generously of their expertise and afforded him the best possible treatment.
To his dear friend, Dr George Duffy, who journeyed with Brendan every step of the way, words are inadequate but we are forever grateful.
We are greatly indebted to Monsignor Ciaran O'Carroll, Fr Cormac O'Brolchain, Fr Kieran McDermott and Fr Tom Nash, who concelebrated Brendan's Funeral Mass so beautifully and offered prayers in the Funeral Home with such edification and dignity, guiding us through those days with such kindness and support. In addition, we thank most sincerely, Therese O'Donoghue, who led our prayers so sympathetically at the graveside.
The uplifting voice of Andrew Gavin, the sweet flute playing of Laura Dempsey and the moving singing of the choir of Alex Voices, will remain in our hearts forever, thank you all so much.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Jody Fanagan and his wonderful team, whose unfaltering help, consideration and guidance, were second to none.
Finally, to each and every one of you who reached out to us in so many ways, who travelled long or short journeys, spoke or wrote words of comfort, offered Masses, prayed for Brendan with us and for us, we extend our warm appreciation.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
DEMPSEY - Dr Brendan (Second Anniversary, April 6) Remembering our beloved Brendan with great fondness, warmth and gratitude, still so greatly missed - his spirit remains a constant in our lives. Eimir, Conor, Jeremiah, Brendan and Greta, their loving spouses, his thirteen cherished grandchildren, extended family and friends.
