MONKS, John

MONKS John (6339 Serjeant 7th Battalion of the Royal Irish Rifles) killed on August 16, 1917 near Ypres. Belgium, aged 33. Husband of the late Annie and father to the late Margaret (Peggy Gilligan) and Anne (Kelleher). Grandfather of the Gilligans of Tivoli Terrace, Tramore, Gerry, Conor, Gay, Monica, Eilish amd the late John. He lies in an unknown grave but is remembered on this the centenary of his death.
