Rosaline was a beautiful person and very sharp and strong woman . She was my mother's godmother of baptism . The first time I met her was when she came to Italy to visit my family at the age of 80 or so ... such a lovely humor ! After a couple of years I decided to move to Ireland and she was very kind to host me for 2 months where she treated me so well and where we became very good friends . I lived over 3 years in Ireland and we had a very good friendship and did so many things together . Unfortunately she got ill and eventually passed away less then a month before I decided to move back to Italy . I'm honoured to say that she spent the last time part of his life with me , a good friend , and I will always remember her for the rest of my life ! Her last words where : Arrivederci !

Great Trade Unionist

I never knew Rosaline when I was a young lad in London in the 1960s and she was working there. But I am glad to have met her subsequently on NUJ occasions, especially delegate meetings. She did great work on behalf of those in need in the union through the Provident Fund/Widows and Orphans Fund, now NUJ Extra. As was said at her funeral, she was a woman of great faith and I was privileged to have her stay with me during a visit to Belfast on union business. I only found out at her funeral that she was a former pupil (boarder) at the St Louis convent in Carrickmacross, Co.Monaghan so to remember her, I went home that way this evening, passing the secondary school where she had received her education. Rest in Peace.
