VALENTINE (Tom) (St Kevin's Park, Dartry, Dublin) (August 1, 1951 to February 1, 2006) - A Birthday Remembrance and Acknowledgement. On today, Tom's birthday, Maeve, Donncha, Karl, Eoghan and Jill, together with his brothers and sisters and extended family wish to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us on the loss of our beloved Tom. Tom's leaving of life told much of how it was lived. He left, not easily, but with acceptance; with courage and serenity, with a good word for those around him, with a will to live, with his family and friends, in the home he loved. We who are left have much to be grateful for. To our wonderful relatives and friends for their love and support, for the long hours of toil, for their laughter and tears, for their gentleness and their strength, for the great deeds and the small jobs. To all those who fed us and sustained us, to those of you who phoned or text or called, or eased our path in difficult times, and continue to do so, our heart felt thanks. To all who sent Mass Cards and letters of sympathy, they were a great solace and comfort. Thanks to Prof. Colm O'Morain and his team at Tallaght Hospital, especially the staff in the Oncology Dept, Sinead Davern and her colleagues at Our Lady's Hospice. We are especially grateful to Fr Hugh Fagan who so eloquently conveyed Tom's influence on all our lives. Our thanks also to Fr Frank Keane, Mount Argus. We thank also all who made generous donations in Tom's name to Our Lady's Hospice. As it would not be possible to thank everyone individually, you are in our thoughts and prayer and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions. "Look at life with eyes that see
the good and not the bad.
Cherish in your memory
the glad times not the sad"
