KENNEDY - John A. (Terenure and late of Spawell) (May 30, 1942 – November 11, 2020) - On the weekend of John’s 79th birthday we, his wife Ena and daughters Caroline, Jennifer and Georgina and our families would like to thank everyone who sympathised with us on the passing of our much-loved husband, father and grandfather. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who attended or viewed his funeral, wrote such beautiful letters or sent messages of condolences to us. Thank you to Fr. Martin Kilmurry O.Carm and the Carmelite community at Terenure College for their kindness, friendship and support to us all over the many years and the help they provided to celebrate John's full and happy life during his funeral Mass. Thank you to the members of our extended family, neighbours, members of Terenure College RFC, Castle, Hermitage and Slade Valley Golf Clubs of which he is a past Captain and his friends from near and far who stood shoulder to shoulder with us, your support is very much appreciated. We are deeply grateful to those who helped in any way during John’s illness in recent years; A very special thanks to Neil, Carol and Elaine from Applewood Homecare and the caring staff in Our Lady’s Hospice who provided great comfort to John in his final weeks and days. To Dr. Robin Quigley, thank you for your support and kindness not only as John’s GP but also as a true friend for over 45 years. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Hubert Gallagher and Dr. David Burke, Beacon Hospital. We remember too with deep appreciation the sensitive and unobtrusive professionalism of our cousin Tommy D’Arcy from Fanagan’s funeral directors. It is difficult to describe just how much your gestures of support meant to us in our time of need. To have a reminder from the people that care for us that we are not alone in our grief is immeasurable. Thank you for reaching out and sharing your condolences. It is only with the help of the wonderful people in our lives that we will be able to navigate life without John. John left us far too early, but he is in our hearts forever. Ena, Caroline, Jennifer and Georgina.
