PIETERSE, Gloria (née McDowell), passed on peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of October 21, 2011 after a short illness following many years of challenges courageously borne. Her immensely loving heart and tireless support of her family and friends throughout her life has been deeply felt, and she leaves behind many who continue to love her in return. She will be greatly missed by all her family, especially her children Minnow and Tim, granddaughter Deniz, and her sisters Deenie, Caro and Gale. At her request her funeral has taken place privately. Please don't mourn her passing but celebrate the joy she brought to so many.

I knew of Gloria only through the Churg Strauss Support group. This morning I found an envelope that contained brochures she sent to me. She included a brief message of supportive words She still has an impact all these years later.
