MURRAY, Joseph, Patrick, March 28, 1922 - March 25, 2015. Born in Dublin, the son of Thomas and Lilian (Grehan) Murray of Harold's Cross. Educated at Synge Street CBS and University College Dublin, BA 1949. Worked at the National Museum of Ireland where he started as a messenger boy at age 15 for a salary of 8 shillings a week and rose to the rank of Higher Executive Officer in the Civil Service by the time of his retirement in 1987. Beloved husband of Arlette (née Dupontreué), whom he married in France in 1951. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Lilian O'Byrne (1952-1994), brothers James (Josephine) and Thomas. He is survived by his son, Brian (Jayne), grandchildren Roisin and Stephen O'Byrne, Kate and Ian Murray, son-in-law Sean (Jill) O'Byrne, nieces Angela Kelly and Noirin Sheridan, and nephews Ciaran, Fergus and Declan Murray. A private cremation was held on March 27 at Mount Jerome Crematorium with interment deferred.
