CARROLL, (Douglas, Cork and formerly of Drumcondra, Dublin) - On August 13th, 2021, to the great sorrow of her adoring family the death has occurred of MAUREEN (née Moran) after a long illness borne with extraordinary courage and grace, peacefully, in the tender care of the staff at the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork, beloved wife of Joe, dearest loving mother of Neasa, Muireann and Brian, doting grandmother of Maeve, Aoife, Orla and Seán, sister of Brendan, Seamus and Deirdre, mother-in-law of Brendan and Claire.Deeply regretted by her husband and family, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends. Maureen’s Requiem Mass will be live streamed on http://www.mycondolences.ie/ at 12.00noon on tomorrow Tuesday August 17th, 2021. A private family funeral will take place, in accordance with covid guidelines. We thank you for your co-operation and understanding at this difficult time. CARROLL - Maureen (née Moran), (August 13, 2021) (Drumcondra, Dublin and Douglas, Cork) - On this the First Anniversary of her death, the Carroll and Moran families wish to express our deepest gratitude to all who sympathised with us on the loss of our beloved Maureen. We thank all who wrote messages of condolence, sent Mass cards and flowers, attended the funeral Mass and burial and supported us in our grief throughout the past year. To Canon Teddy O’Sullivan who arranged and celebrated the funeral Mass and to Jerh. O’Connor & Sons Ltd. Funeral Directors we offer our sincere appreciation for your sensitivity and assistance. We acknowledge the loyal support of Maureen’s many friends over the years and are particularly grateful to the staff, nurses, doctors and consultants at the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork, who treated Maureen with such kindness and wonderful professional care during her prolonged illness.

So sorry to hear this now. Maureen and I were fast friends a long time ago when we were in teacher college together. I am deeply sad. I will never forget her and the times we spent together.
