FITZGERALD, JAMES (JIM), Blackrock, Cork: On July 20, 2023, (unexpectedly) while battling a serious illness borne with great dignity, courage and humour. He was surrounded by his adoring children as he peacefully left us to join his great love Sophie. Very sadly missed by his heartbroken children David, Patricia, Sandra, James and foster child Anne-Christine, his in-laws Mary, Ed Moodie, Mick Hurley and Olga, grandchildren Jack, Cian, Aisling, Aoife-Marie, Ronan and Vlada, his sister Mary (O’Connor), godchildren and a huge number of nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, brothers and sisters-in-law and a great number of absolutely amazing friends. We are devastated at losing our gentle warrior, but so grateful for the many beautiful moments we have shared and proud of his inspiration which we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. Reposing at Temple Hill Funeral Home, Boreenmanna Road of Jerh. O’Connor Ltd. on Monday (July 24) from 5.00pm to 6.00pm. Requiem Mass at 11.00am on Tuesday (July 25) in St. Michael’s Church Blackrock. Funeral afterwards to St. Michael’s Cemetery, Blackrock. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. “Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis”
