MONAGHAN, Professor John (Emeritus Fellow, Dept. of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, TCD, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, IEI, Men Against Cancer and ARC) - January 14, 2018, (peacefully), at Our Lady's Hospice, Harolds Cross, surrounded by his loving family, darling husband to Catherine and much loved dad to Ciara, Conor and Caitríona; John will be deeply missed by his family, sister Pauline and treasured grandchildren Hannah, Donagh, Lily and Baby Monaghan, sons-in-law Anthony and Raymond, daughter-in-law Diana, extended family and a wide circle of friends. May he rest in peace. Reposing at Our Lady's Hospice, Harolds Cross today (Tuesday) between 3 o'clock and 6 o'clock. Funeral Mass tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at 11am in Our Lady's Nativity Church, Leixlip followed by burial in Mount Venus Cemetery. Family flowers only please. MONAGHAN, John - Professor John Monaghan (Leixlip, Co. Kildare) formerly of the Dept. of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering TCD, DIT Bolton St, IEI, National Vice President of Society of St Vincent De Paul, Men Against Cancer, Irish Cancer Society. On the First Anniversary of John's passing (January 14, 2018). We Johns' family; his wife Catherine, his children Ciara, Caitriona and Conor, their partners and John's beloved grandchildren, fondly remember a loving husband, fabulous Dad and Grandad. We wish to thank President Michael. D. Higgins for attending John's funeral and sympathising with us. We thank Fr. John McNamara P.P. and Fr. Michael Hurley and all the team in the Parish of Our Lady's Nativity Leixlip for the beautiful celebration of John's life. We sincerely thank everyone who sympathised with us at the time of John's passing. We express sincere gratitude to our family and our friends, for their kind words, thoughtful actions and support during the later stages of John's illness and throughout this difficult year. At this time we remember and thank all the medical staff who cared for John in St. Elizabeth's Ward in the Mater Private Hospital, and St. Gabriel's Ward in Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross. We know that John is missed not just by his family but also his many friends and colleagues. John will be remembered at a special Mass for family and friends this (Saturday) afternoon at 3.00pm in Our Lady's Nativity Church, Leixlip and again on Monday, January 14, at 9.30 Mass.
