DUFF - (William) Noel (died November 1, 2023, Feast of All Saints), formerly of Sydney Parade Avenue, Dublin 4, and late of Buswells Hotel. As we, the Duff family remember our beloved father, Noel on the weekend of his month’s mind and his 95th birthday on December 1, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who attended Noel’s reposal, funeral Mass and burial. To all who sent Mass cards and cards or letters of sympathy to our family, and to those who recorded their condolences online, we are most appreciative. We will never forget the kindness and care extended to Dad by all the staff of St. Lawrence’s Ward, St. Vincent’s University Hospital and also by the Palliative Care Team, including the Chaplain, Fr. Damien O’Reilly, who supported all our family. We extend our thanks to Fr. Philip Griffin who led prayers at Dad’s reposing. Your prayers settled and comforted us as we prepared for the days ahead.
Thank you to V. Rev. James Hurley, P.P., Our Lady Queen of Peace, Merrion Road, for celebrating Dad’s Funeral Mass and to concelebrants Rt. Rev. Ciarán O’Carroll, PP., Church of the Assumption, Booterstown, Fr. Donncha O’hAodh, Fr. Fergus O’Connor and Fr. Charlie Connolly, Prelature of Opus Dei. Special thanks to the soloist, Kerrie O’Connor and organist, William Woods: your hymns and music enhanced the liturgy and were of great comfort. Thank you to Carnegie Funeral Directors, Monkstown, for their professionalism, kindness and attention to detail. We would like to record our gratitude to consultants, Dr. Kamal Fadalla and Dr. Catriona Lawlor and to all the healthcare professionals at Sandymount Road Medical Centre for their care of Noel in his latter years.
As it would be impossible to thank each of you individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deep appreciation and gratitude to all who helped in any way. Your love, kindness and support have sustained us during these recent sad weeks. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
