LYNCH Matthew (Malahide, Co. Dublin) - October 9, 2018. On the First Anniversary of Matt's death, he is lovingly remembered and sorely missed by his children- Eimear, Úna, Garrett and Kevin, his ten grandchildren, his sons and daughters-in-law, his brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, extended family and dear friends. We would like to thank every-one who attended his wake, removal and funeral Mass. We would also like to thank those who helped in any way they could. Many people who could not attend, made great efforts to contact us in different ways to offer their condolences. We really appreciated your support at a very difficult time. A special thank-you to Peter O'Connor and Eddie O'Connor who helped us so much with the organisation of Dad's funeral but also during Dad's illness. Sincere thanks to Fr. Kevin Moore P.P. and Fr. Jim Curran who assisted in the celebration of the funeral Mass with Fr. Bruce Bradley S.J. who delivered such an appropriate homily. The Enchiriadis Treis choir led by Cathal Clynch, sang beautifully at the funeral Mass and thank you to Maeve Maguire, who helped us choose the music. We would also like to thank Paddy Cole for his heart-rending solo on the clarinet. We would like to express our gratitude to his loyal Killinkere GAA Club for their Guard of Honour despite the torrential downpour on the day of the funeral. Our thanks also to Malahide Cricket Club, Malahide Golf Club and St. Sylvester's GAA Club. Matt was very appreciative of the care he received from the nursing staff in The Mater Private and from Prof. John McCaffrey and his team of doctors and nurses. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all of them. Dad was able to stay at home almost to the end, thanks to the wonderful attention of the St. Francis Hospice Homecare Team. His final few days in St. Francis Hospice in Raheny were so dignified, the staff so sensitive and kind. We will be forever grateful for the inspiring work they do. Thanks to those who made charitable donations to the Hospice. Finally, we are thankful to Kirwan's Funeral Directors. They were discreet, compassionate and professional in all their duties. Matt will be remembered at 12.30pm Mass in St. Sylvester's Parish Church on Sunday October 6, 2019.Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
