NORTON, Des, (Monkstown, Co. Dublin) May 1, 2018 (unexpectedly). Emeritus Professor at Cornell University and latterly UCD. Greatly, greatly loved and cherished husband of Deirdre (Boland). Adoring father of Chantelle, Shevawn and Emma-Jean. We are all devastated by the sudden loss of Des who was an extraordinary presence in all of our lives. A profound loss to his sisters Cora and Renée. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, sons-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.Funeral Mass at 11.30am on Saturday (May 5) in St. Patrick’s Church, Monkstown, followed by cremation in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome crematorium, Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6w.
