SWEENEY, Eileen (née Ruane) (Athenry Co. Galway) - September 27, 2017, at Galway Clinic, cherished wife of the late Joseph MG Sweeney, much loved mother of Joe, David, Violet and Raymond. Eileen is survived by Joe's wife Margaret, Violet's husband Brendan, and David's partner Mairead. Adoring grandmother of Conor, Gavin, Barry, Nigel, Eric, and Bryan, and great-grandmother of Jane, Anna, Joe, Harry, and Clara; Eileen will be sadly missed by her sisters Violet (Athenry), Detta (Belfast) and Betty (Ulladulla), by her brother Ray Ruane (Athenry), sisters-in-law Margaret Ruane and Mary Sweeney (Dublin), by Maureen and Eileen's many nephews, nieces, wider family and friends. Funeral today (Thursday) after Requiem Mass at 2pm at the Church of the Assumption, Athenry to New Cemetery, Athenry, Co. Galway. Family flowers only please."Simply the best"
