McCAFFREY - Gerard (Gerry) (Clontarf, Dublin) January 2, 2022. As we remember Gerry on his Sixty-fifth birthday, his brothers and sisters would like to thank all who sympathised with them during the funeral and in the weeks after his death on January 2. We miss Gerry every day. We were deeply touched and comforted by the kind words and messages of condolence, the lovely letters, cards and wonderful on-line tributes. A special word of thanks to Professor Denise Sadlier and her colleagues in the Mater Hospital for the exceptional and dedicated care afforded to Gerry in the last few years of his life. His last few weeks were spent in the wonderful care of St. Francis Hospice Raheny, where he enjoyed visits from friends and family, in particular his many cousins whose company he always loved. Throughout his illness he also received great care from his GP Dr. John Blennerhassett and his practice staff. Thank you to Fr. John Callinan, the staff in St. Anthony’s, Clontarf and musicians Fergal and Cillian O’Breacháin for a beautiful funeral service. Our thanks also to Staffords Funeral Directors. The Holy Sacrifice of Mass will be offered for all your intentions.
