FANAGAN - Joseph P. (Joe) (February 1, 2021) - Today as we mark what would have been Joe’s 92nd birthday, he is celebrated by his loving family, wife Rhona, children Denise, Jody and Suzie, together with Alison and Andre and his cherished grandchildren Hugo, Harry, Stephen, Clodagh and JP. At this time we wish to acknowledge the love and support we received from so many at the time of his passing. We were truly overwhelmed and humbled by each and every one of the heartfelt messages and correspondence. To all those who wrote letters, Mass Cards and emails, to those who fed us, phoned us, sent flowers and displayed a thousand other acts of kindness, thank you. We especially thank our extended families, neighbours, friends and his former work colleagues who lined the streets outside the Funeral Homes, his residence, Milltown Church and St Marys RFC, as we brought Joe on his final journey. Your presence that day was deeply felt and carried us through. We were grateful also for the respectful adherence to the strict pandemic restrictions of that time. Sincere thanks to Msgr. Peter Briscoe, St. Columbanus and Gall, Milltown, for a beautiful celebration of Joe’s funeral Mass, which was accompanied by wonderful uplifting music. We were greatly heartened to learn of so many who were united with us remotely, who might have wished to be present under different circumstances.
We also thank Fr. Donal Byrne who led us in prayer in Aungier Street, and to Fr. Joe Kennedy who attended his interment in the Cemetery and who made us smile at such a poignant moment. Please accept this as an acknowledgement of our sincere gratitude.
Happy birthday to Joe
who is dearly missed
and loved every day.
