A good colleague and friend

George taught me as a young apprentice electrician in the mid 1960s and I later worked with George as a colleague. He was an educator with vision to whom I owe a lot. He will live on in my memory.

Rest in Peace George

George, you were a true gentleman who lived life to the full and I was incredibly saddened to hear of your passing.

I am a close friend of Geoge's daughter, Sorcha and had the good fortune to get to know George well over the many years. George was always so welcoming to his children's friends and was always available to lend an ear, give guidance and advice, load me down with fantastic books (which I never gave back-sorry!) and of course let's not forget that most importantly, George and Barbara held the best parties!!

You will be very much missed George, my thoughts are with all the Murphy clan at this sad time xxx

Jeanne xxx
