CUNNEEN, Francis (Frank) (Donnybrook, Dublin 4 and formerly of Scarriff, County Clare) - September 22nd, 2023. Peacefully, in his 87th year, in the tender care of his family and the staff of St. Vincent’s University Hospital. Beloved husband of Máire, loving father of Brian and Claire and adored grandfather of Hugo and Felix. Predeceased by his sister Maura. He will be very sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, sisters Nóra and Bríd, brother Pat, daughter-in-law Claire, son-in-law Jonathan, in-laws, nephews, extended family, neighbours in Donnybrook and Dunquin, County Kerry, friends and former colleagues. Reposing on Friday evening, September 29th from 5 pm to 7 pm at Rom Massey & Sons Funeral Home, 6 Cranford Centre (opposite UCD Flyover), Stillorgan Road, D04 X446. Funeral Mass on Saturday morning, September 30th at 11.00 am, at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook, D04 HW82, followed by cremation (family only) at Mount Jerome Crematorium. For those unable to attend, the Mass may be viewed live at https://donnybrookparish.ie/webcam/ and the cremation prayers at approximately 1.45pm at https://www.mountjerome.ie/victorian-chapel-service/. CUNNEEN - Francis (Frank) (22nd September, 2023) (late of Donnybrook, Dublin 4 and formerly of Scariff, County Clare) On the eve of Frank’s first anniversary, his wife Máire, children Brian and Claire, grandchildren Hugo and Felix, sisters Nóra and Bríd, brother Pat, daughter-in-law Claire, son-in-law Jonathan, in-laws, nephews and extended family wish to thank everyone who sympathised and supported us on our sad loss. We would especially like to express our sincere thanks to Monsignor Ciarán O'Carroll for his spiritual guidance and support; for performing the last rites and celebrating Frank’s Funeral Mass. We wish to thank Neal Massey and his colleagues at Rom Massey & Sons Undertakers for their care and attention. We are also grateful for the kindness and care provided to Frank by his GP Dr. David Kelly and by St. Vincents University Hospital during Frank’s final days. Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to all our friends, neighbours in Dublin, Scariff and Dunquin, colleagues and Frank’s wide circle of friends who attended his Funeral Mass in person and online and for all the kind messages of sympathy and mass cards. Please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation.
