O'DOHERTY, Dr. Bríd

O'DOHERTY, Dr. Bríd (Docteur de l'Université, Sorbonne), (June 14, 1919 - June 19, 2018), (formerly Sr. David of the St. Louis Order), (peacefully) in her 100th year, after a short illness in the loving care of the staff of St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin. Deeply loved by her extended family, friends, former students and her many colleagues including those in St. Patrick's College, Maynooth (where she lectured 1971-1988); the EU in Strasbourg, and the St. Louis Congregation. Predeceased by her beloved parents Joseph O'Doherty, T.D. for Donegal North, member of the first Dáil Eireann 1919 and later Senator, and Dr. Margaret (Mairéad) née Irvine, of Irvinstown, Co.Fermanagh. Also predeceased by her siblings Dr. Fíona O'Callaghan, Dr. Roisín McCallum, Sr. Deirdre (Poor Clare's) and David O'Docherty. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews Annabel and Michael O'Docherty, Michael, Joe and Bryan O'Callaghan; Andrew, James and Richard McCallum, Claire Prost and Fiona Dutweiler, sisters-in-law Jane and Gail O'Docherty, grandnephews and grandnieces. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis. Tá sí ar Shlí na Fírinne anois. Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann. Requiem Mass at 11am next Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook, D.4, and afterwards to the Victorian Chapel at Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross.
