SWEENEY, Margaret E., (Sandyford, Co. Dublin and Erris, Co. Mayo). Born Preston, England, April 14, 1932, daughter of George and Margaret Jones; died February 25, 2019, peacefully in view of her beloved trees and mountains, flooded with afternoon spring sunshine, at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Dublin. Dearly beloved wife of Gerry (deceased), Mother of Fergus, Janet, Clare and Niall, mother-in-law to Miriam, Kieran, Kevin and Nigel, Granny to Emma, Kevin, Katie, Fionán, Tom, Gráinne, Oisín, Fíachra and Molly, little-granny to Evie, Pippa and baby P. Lynch. We thank everyone who cared so well for Margaret at home and at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital. Margaret will be at home tomorrow (Friday) from 3.00pm until 8.00pm. Removal on Saturday morning to St. Patrick’s Church, Glencullen to arrive for Funeral Mass at 11.00 o’c followed by burial in adjoining Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to RNLI or Birdwatch Ireland. A great wife, mother, friend, activist, modernist and perennial librarian.
