CALLANAN Niall Risteárd, (Retired Lt. Colonel, Defence Forces), (Rathfarnham, Dublin 14) died September 24, 2014 - Dolly, Mairéad, Edel, Patricia, Niall and Colm would like to sincerely thank all those who have supported us in our recent sad loss. We were so moved by the numbers who joined us at home on Friday and for the funeral on Saturday, those who travelled long distances and all who supported us at this difficult time by calling or sending us messages of sympathy, Mass cards and flowers. We thank everyone for the beautiful celebration of Niall's life, particularly Bishop Raymond Field, Fr. Brendan Madden; lead Celebrant, whose support to our family has been wonderful, Fr. Ambrose McNamee ODC, to organist Ann McNulty, soloist Gifford Whittle, the Defence Forces and Larry Massey Funeral Directors. To those who looked after Niall at home, to the paramedics and to the staff of St. Vincent's University Hospital, we say a special thank you for your loving care and attention to Niall and your support to us. Finally, we are deeply grateful to all Niall's friends, his colleagues and class mates in the Defence Forces, and to our relatives, friends, neighbours, colleagues and the parishioners of Ballyroan, for your kindness and ongoing support to our family. It seems impossible to respond to everyone individually and we ask you to accept this acknowledgement as a token of our heartfelt appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. We remember Niall's Month's Mind tomorrow, Sunday, November 2, in Church of the Holy Spirit, Ballyroan, at 12 noon.
