STRONG, George William Whitfield - October 6, 2015 - On the First Anniversary of George's death, his wife Pat, daughters Rosemary and Katherine, his sister Vida and brother Alan wish to express their sincere thanks to all those who cared for George so lovingly during his difficult illness; especially Maureen McNulty and the nursing staff at Marymount Care Centre and his special carers Breda, Dee, Deirdre, Teresa and Liz. We are also very grateful for all the love and support given to us at that very difficult time and wish to say thank you to all those who attended George's Funeral, sent cards and letters of sympathy, made phone calls and very generously donated to our chosen charities, Guide Dogs for the Blind and Parkinson's Research, both charities very close to George's heart and ask you to accept our grateful thanks and acknowledgement. We would also like to thank Canon Paul Houston and Rev. Eugene Griffin for the lovely Funeral Service. As George donated his brain for Parkinson's research we wish to thank Kirwan Funeral Directors for their care and sensitivity. On July 19, 2016, a most beautiful and sunny day, George's ashes were finally laid to rest in his family grave at St. Bride's Churchyard, Mountnugent, County Cavan and we would like to thank Rev. Damien O'Cathain for his lovely service at the graveside."Those we love don't go away
They walk beside us every day"
