SHERLOCK, Malachy (22nd August 2023) - In his 95th year. Late of Union Hall, Cork and formerly of Dublin and Derry. Peacefully surrounded by his devoted family in the wonderful care and attention of the staff at Orwell Healthcare, Rathgar. Beloved husband of Maura and much loved father of Catherine and Patrick. Predeceased by his sister Claire and his brother John. Sadly missed by his adored grandchildren Emma, Lucy, Manon and Matthew, his sisters Angela and Joan, his sister-in-law Rosemary, his son-in-law Tim and daughter-in-law Raphie, his nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Funeral Mass tomorrow (Friday) 25th August at 11.00 am in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Churchtown, followed by cremation in the Victorian Chapel Mount Jerome Harolds Cross. Family flowers only.
SHERLOCK - Malachy (Union Hall, Dublin and Derry). On his first anniversary, (died August 22, 2023) Malachy's wife Maura, his children Catherine and Patrick, their spouses Tim and Raphie, his beloved grandchildren Emma, Lucy, Manon and Matthew, together with his sisters Angela and Joan, sister-in-law Rosemary, his nephews and nieces and extended family wish to thank everybody who supported us in so many ways at the time of his passing. We are greatly indebted to Fr. Aidan Troy who celebrated his Funeral Mass and whose thoughtful and wise words have stayed with us. Special thanks to the wonderful staff and carers in Orwell Healthcare, Rathgar who helped to look after Malachy with kindness and professionalism. To all those who supported us on this sad occasion and to everyone who attended Malachy's Funeral Mass, those who travelled long distances and sent messages and cards of sympathy we extend our deep appreciation. It meant a lot to all of us. We hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our deep gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
