MURRAY S.J., Rev. Fr. Dermot, (Clongowes Wood College, Clane, Co. Kildare and late of DĂșn Laoighre, Dublin), October 4, 2022, peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of Cherryfield Lodge, Nursing Home, Milltown, Dublin, predeceased by his parents John and Clare, deeply regretted by his loving sister Ann, nieces Pat and Clare, nephew John, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, friends and his brother Jesuits in Clongowes and the Irish Province, Rest In Peace. Reposing at Cherryfield Lodge Nursing Home, Milltown on Saturday from 2.00pm, with prayers at 3.00pm, followed by removal to arrive at Clongowes Wood College Chapel, Clane for 6.00pm evening prayers. Funeral Mass on Sunday in the School Sports Hall at 11.00am, followed by burial in the Community Cemetery. "In manus tuas"

The tributes are wonderful. He was extraordinary. His time as Headmaster of Gonzaga was so powerful. I was on his JCT cup team in 1982 and he was a visitor to our house so many times. Fr Murray seemed to me as a 15 year old in Gonzaga as an icon. He may have been the most significant force in his time as Gonzaga's headmaster, in turning it into Ireland's number one school.
