STAUNTON, George, Lt. Col. (retd.) (Ashbrook Gardens, Ennis Road, Limerick, formerly of Tuam and Dublin and late of Castletroy Golf Club). Peacefully on April 5, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Jackie. Sadly missed by his loving sons Brian and Mark, daughters Ciara and Aoife, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sister Noreen (Farrelly), relatives and friends. Rest in Peace. Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on today (Friday) from 5.00pm to 6.30pm. Removal to Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Ennis Road tomorrow (Saturday) to arrive for 11.00am Mass. Funeral afterwards to Castlemungret Cemetery.
STAUNTON - George (April 5, 2022 – First Anniversary) On this the First Anniversary of the death of our Dad George, we his children, Brian, Mark, Ciara and Aoife, together with the wider family circle would like to thank most sincerely everyone who offered their sympathy at the sad time of his passing. We were very comforted by your messages, cards, flowers and attendance at his reposal and funeral mass. We were delighted to meet past colleagues, golfers, neighbours and friends and hear so many stories of a life well lived.
We are extremely grateful to the wonderful staff at St. Camillus’ Rehab unit and Carrigoran House, Dad’s carer Antoinette and the exceptional Meals on Wheels team from St. Munchin’s Community Centre. Your kindness, care and constant smiles made such a difference and will never be forgotten. Please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our deep and heartfelt appreciation for your kindness. George will be remembered at mass in the Holy Rosary Church (Limerick) today, April 5, 2023, and at Arbour Hill Church (Dublin) on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
