NELSON - Clare (Sandymount and formerly of City Quay) June 3, 2022. Very peacefully after a short illness, in the excellent care of the staff at A and E, St. Vincent’s University Hospital. Loving sister of Marie and Alice. Predeceased by her parents William and Catherine, her siblings Willie, Marcella, Kathleen, Gerard, Séan, George and Jimmy, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews. Deeply mourned and loved by her sister-in-law Pauline, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, nephews and nieces-in-law, neighbours and friends. Reposing in Carnegies Funeral Home on Monday June 6, from 3pm to 5.30pm (A94 XK28). Funeral Mass on Wednesday June 8, at 10am in the Church of St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Sandymount followed by burial in Glasnevin Cemetery. NELSON - Clare (Sandymount, late of City Quay, Dublin) (died June 3rd, 2022) - On this the first anniversary of our dear sister Clare, who is greatly missed, we her sisters Marie and Alice, her nieces and nephews and their spouses, grand-nieces and grand-nephews wish to sincerely thank all those who expressed their support and sympathy at the time of her sudden passing. We acknowledge with gratitude all those who attended the Funeral Home and Mass. Grateful thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff in the Emergency Dept. of St. Vincent's Hospital. A special word of thanks to Fr. Liam Cuffe (Outpatients Dept.) for his prayerful assistance to Clare in her last hours. Sincere gratitude to Fr. Liam Murtagh (friend for many years) who celebrated the Funeral Mass and to Fr. John McDonagh who concelebrated with him. To Fr. Eamon Crossan for his attendance at the Funeral Home and to Fr. Cormac McIlraith for his house visits to Clare. Many thanks to Kevin Sheldrick (organist) and to Roisin O'Reilly (Soloist), also to our niece Joan and nephew Bill for their contribution to the lovely singing, and to our niece Pat for her wonderful Eulogy. Grateful thanks to Carnegie Funeral Directors for their kindness, professionalism and dedication. To all those who sent Mass Cards, letters, floral tributes and rip condolences, and to our neighbours and friends for their kindness and support at this time. We trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our deep appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions. Clare's First Anniversary Mass will be offered for all your intentions. Clare's First Anniversary Mass will be at 12 noon tomorrow (Sunday) at Star of the Sea Church, Sandymount.
