BURKE, Michael Desmond (Des), M.D. (May 25, 1935 - June 16, 2017), (peacefully) on Friday, June 16 at his home in New York City. He is predeceased by his son Niall, and his sisters Joan Callanan and Irene Moloney. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maria, his brother James, his children Richard, Claudia, and Marina, and his grandchildren, Esther, Adrian, Emily, Catherine, Charles, Clara, and Theodore and loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 5 - 7pm, tomorrow (Tuesday), June 20, 2017, at Frank E. Campbell "The Funeral Chapel", 1076 Madison Avenue (81st). Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 10am St. Agnes R.C. Church, 143 East 43d Street. In lieu of flowers, the family asks any donations be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
