CODY (NÉE PHELAN) - Dr Ellen, Tullaniskey, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, peacefully 5th January 2026 in her 99th year in the tender care of the staff at Newbrook Nursing Home. Dearly beloved wife of the late Dr Edward and much loved mother of Matthew, Mary and Jane. Deeply regretted by their spouses Diana, Peter and Walter, treasured grandchildren Roisín, Edward, Neil, Caitriona, Stephen and Louise and nine great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sister Peggy; Ellen will be sadly missed by her brother Bill, his wife Cel, sisters Breda and Hendy, cousins, nieces, nephews, wonderful carers and dear friends.

Reposing at Gilsenans Funeral Home Mullingar on Thursday from 9.30 am to 10.30 am followed by Funeral Mass in the Cathedral of Christ the King at 11 am. Burial afterwards to Cappagh Cemetery, Inistioge, Co Kilkenny at approx 2.30 pm. House private please. Donations in lieu of flowers to St Vincent de Paul.
