LAVELLE, (Ó Maolfhábhail), Eoghan Peacefully passed earlier this week at the end of a full life. He was greatly loved by his wife Lilo and his daughters Gráinne, Aisling and Blánaid. He will certainly be missed by all his family, friends and past colleagues. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal. A family funeral has been held in line with Covid regulations.

I read with great sadness of the death of Eoghan, Dad to my wonderful friends from childhood, Gràinne, Aisling and Blanid. My sympathies to you Ausling and Blanid. Dr Lavelle created the ethos of 8u Calafort - a patriotic man of vision and humour from whom I, and many others, learnt to sail. My condolences to his family. RIP Alan Finlay.

We first met Eoghan some years ago when the Internationa​l Eurosea Sea Scout event was held in Ireland. We remember him with affection and his valuable and great work in Scouting. RIP Ron & Sylvia Bird Auckland New Zealand
