McCARTHY (née Walsh) (Monea House, Ardmore, Co. Waterford) - December 11, 2013, Ellen Gertrude (Gertie), (peacefully), in her 98th year, at the home of her daughter Nora in Dublin, beloved wife of the late Dr. Tim McCarthy, Surgeon Commander R.N., loving mother of Nora McCarthy, much loved Grannie of Julie, Timothy and Sarah O'Mahony, daughter of the late Declan and Maria Walsh Monea, sister of the late Tom Walsh, Jim Walsh, Monsignor Michael Walsh and Mary Parsons, sister-in-law of Eileen Walsh Summerhill and of the late Dr. Dan McCarthy, Dr. Bennie McCarthy, Dr. Annie May Fennessy and Dr. Rita Mullen; deeply regretted by the extended Walsh, Parsons, McCarthy, Fennessy and Mullen families, and her friends and good neighbours in Ardmore. Arriving home to St. Declan's Church, Ardmore this (Friday) at 6 p.m. Requiem Mass tomorrow (Saturday) at 11.30 a.m. followed by burial.Requiescat in Pace.
