O'DONOVAN, (nee Morrissey), Tralee and formerly Cashel, Co. Tipperary Olive, beloved wife of Patrick (Pádraig) and cherished mother of Eoin, following an illness borne with admirable fortitude and forbearance, passed away peacefully on 2 August 2025 in the presence of her family, in the exceptional care of the Palliative Care Unit, University Hospital Kerry. Olive is deeply mourned by her family, her sisters Mai and Angela, her brother John, her grandchildren Odhran, Fionán, Dara and Caoimhe, her daughters-in-law Kim and Aoife, sisters-in-law Marion and Liz, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her beloved son Donal, parents Johanna and Daniel, brothers Donal and Ned, and her sister Theresa. Suaimhneas síoraí go raibh ag Olive uasal. Reposing at the Gleasure Funeral Home Tralee on Monday 4th August from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Rathass, Tralee V92 DX62. Private cremation to follow. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to the Kerry Hospice Foundation, University Hospital Kerry. Olive’s family wish to record their profound gratitude to the Palliative Care Unit for the outstanding care given to her and the compassion shown to them. The family also acknowledges the support and assistance of HSE personnel for invaluable services rendered. Silent, beyond silence listened for. (Seamus Heaney)
