WEST, Timothy Trevor

WEST Timothy Trevor, (died October 30, 2012) - His wife, Maura Lee, brothers John and Brian and their families remember with pride his great contribution to Irish society in political, cultural, academic and sporting spheres. Thank you to those who attended the Funeral Service in St. Fin Barre's Cathedral, Cork, and also his Memorial Service in Trinity College Dublin. Particular thanks to Bishop Paul Colton, to Dean Alan Marley, to the Rev. Darren McCallig and the Chapel Choir of Trinity for their part in the moving services of remembrance. Appreciation also to the Provost and Fellows of Dublin University, to Richard Timoney of the School of Mathematics, to Cyril Smyth of DUCAC, and the Board of Governors of Midleton College for organizing the reception in his memory. The family are grateful to Seanad Éireann for their moving tribute to Trevor. His long and proud association with DUCAC and the Department of Sport was acknowledged by representatives of so many of the Trinity Clubs. Also represented were CUSAI, the Irish University Rugby Union and the Irish Universities Cricket Association. We are grateful to the Royal Irish Academy and the other Irish Universities for their tributes. Also to the Staff of Iarnród Éireann for their support. Particular thanks to his former students, to Paul Coulson and family - and to those who sent cards, flowers and letters with their kind and eloquent messages of sympathy. These are all greatly appreciated.
