MURPHY, Dr. Christine (Loughshinny and formerly Turner's Cross, Cork) - On this Easter Sunday, April 8, 2011, the First Anniversary of the death of our beloved Chris, we the Murphy and Otto families wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who showed us such kindness and supported us in so many ways over the past year. We are deeply grateful to those who attended last year's funeral celebrations, called to our house, sent flowers, cards and Mass Cards, showed their sympathy in many other ways and gave donations in Chris' memory to the Irish Cancer Society. We particularly thank the many family members and friends who stood by our side over the 12 years of Chris' illness and since the time of her passing. Special thanks to the many nurses and doctors, social workers, public health workers, therapists and specialists who looked after Chris during her long illness, to present and former colleagues, to the school community of Holmpatrick National School, our friends at the Brain Tumour Support Group, and to all those, too many to name, whose practical help has been wonderful. A special mention to those at the National Rehabilitation Hospital who were inspired to appoint Chris to the Board of Management and the Ethics Committee, who cared about her mental rehabilitation as much as physical improvements, saw her qualities as much as her disabilities and gave her a purpose. Chris will be remembered at 12 o'clock Mass on Easter Sunday in St. Patrick's Church, Skerries.
