BYRNE - Donal, January 21, 2021. On Donal’s First Anniversary, his children Damian, Lorraine and Paul and their families, his sister Sr. Monica and the wider Byrne family extend our heartfelt gratitude to the many people who sympathised with us on our loss. A special mention to the medical care from the staff at Arklow Medical Practice, at St Colmcille’s Loughlinstown hospital and to Dr Rory Kennelly and Dr Sarah McLean of St. Vincent’s Hospital. We also want to acknowledge the nurses and staff of the Hazel Ward at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital and those of St. Vincent’s I.C.U. who provided wonderful care to him in his final months, during the very difficult pre-vaccine pandemic days of 2020. We thank Fr Brian McKittrick for his guidance, support and the celebration of the funeral mass, Bridget and Naoimh for their beautiful music, and to the team at John Sweeney and Sons Funeral Directors for their kind and professional assistance. To those who sent cards, letters, messages, those who wrote beautiful online tributes and to our neighbours who stood out to honour Donal’s final journey, it was a source of great comfort. We thank the President and Committee of Arklow LTC for their recognition of Donal’s contribution to the club at their centenary celebration last year. To those who continue to be of great support, we appreciate your kindness. The Holy Sacrifice of Mass will be offered for your intentions. Donal’s kindness, gentle nature and good sense is greatly missed and remembered everyday.

“Deep are the memories, precious they stay; no passing of time, can take them away.”
