PROSSER - Sabina (née O’Neill) (Enniskerry, Co Wicklow and Emeracly, Milltown, Co Galway) (April 8, 2020).
Remembered with love on her First Anniversary by John, Sheelagh (USA), Evelyn (Flavin) and Ena, their partners and Bina’s six grandchildren Blanka and Amy Flavin (London), Shane (Portugal) and Maria Prosser (Dublin) and Aoife and Vincent Long (Tipperary).
At 96 years young, Bina was active to the end and worked hard all her life. She is now at peace with her husband, Bryan, in Kilmacanogue. Bina’s enormous interest in her family was matched by her love of her beloved garden, farming, current affairs and prayer. While Bina lived most of her life in Enniskerry, her greatest joy was staying connected, up to her final weeks, with her family’s homeplace in Emeracly. There was also special place in her heart for Bridge with her friends in Greystones, Enniskerry and Sandyford. Bina’s final years were supported by a great care team including her HSE Home team Service (Bray) ladies as well as loving support from Mabel, Irene and Jimmy and we are eternally grateful for your care and kindness. A special word of thanks to the staff at the Blackrock Clinic, especially Dr Carr, Dr Deegan, Prof. Lehar and the wonderful Nightingale ward team for the dignity, care and kindness shown to Mam in her final weeks.
We would like to acknowledge with heartfelt gratitude all the cards, letters, flowers, donations, support and sympathy we received from our extended families including Bina’s niece and nephews Mary (Madden), Larry and Liam Murray and their families in Galway, the extended Prosser family, the O’Dowd, Flavin, Miller families and our many friends and neighbours. We cannot acknowledge all these kindnesses individually and please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Bina’s funeral mass and burial were held in the early days of the pandemic restrictions last year, when there were few structures in place to hold the usual ceremonies to mark her long and well lived life, when there was none of the normal formalities to allow others to join with our family. We therefore are especially grateful to and the parish team in Enniskerry and Fr James Oyube (Bray) for a such a respectful, sincere funeral mass and burial and to Thomas Murphy & Sons Funeral Directors (Bray) for their great care and professionalism. A First Anniversary Mass will be held on Thursday, April 8, at 10.15am in St Mary’s Church, Enniskerry and can be viewed online at https://enniskerryparish.ie/parish-webcam.
