<p>McKIERNAN, (née Ball) Elizabeth (Betty) September 9, 2021 aged 92, in the wonderful care of the staff of Kiltipper Woods Care Centre surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Joe and devoted nana of the late Barry. Much loved mother of Brian, Eoin, Donal, Niall, Deirdre and Orla. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Noel, Amanda, Fiachra, Cían, Liam, Katie, Aaron, Niamh, Ina, Glenn, Seamus, Harry and Patrick, great-grandchild Max, daughters-in-law Siobhán, Anne, Neasa and Yolande, son-in-law Fran and Jimmy, nieces, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace. Removal from her home to the Church of the Annunciation, Rathfarnham this (Monday) morning for Funeral Mass at 10.00, followed by burial at Mount Venus Cemetery. The Mass may be viewed on https://www.churchservices.tv/rathfarnham. Condolence messages may be left on www.irishtimes.com for the family. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to the National Heart and Stroke Charity.</p>

<p>Our memories of Betty</p> <p>To Brian, Eoin, Donal, Niall, Deirdre and Orla</p> <p>Our deepest condolences to all of you and your family during this time</p> <p>Betty, my mother’s sister, was a symbol to me and Frank.</p> <p>We remember her as a force of nature, chatty and funny, always busy doing something.</p> <p>We were lucky to stay with Betty in her house in Rathfarnham in August 2010 during a visit from Canada, when meeting Yvonne and her daughters, and even though we hadn’t seen her in a long time, she made us, and particularly Frank (who’s English was limited back then…), feel at home and cooked up a big diner for all of us. That was a very special moment for us as it was the last time we saw Betty and my sister Yvonne. We have enclosed a photo of that moment.</p> <p>We stayed in touch with Betty by mail, and she kept the link with my family abroad alive.
