DONOHUE (Michael) (Dyke Road, Galway) January 4, 1957 to October 19, 2006) - On today, Michael's birthday, his wife Margaret (Murray), sons Gavin, Kieron and Ronan, along with his mother Mary, brothers and sisters and extended family wish to thank most sincerely all who sympathised and supported us in the loss of our beloved Michael. Michael's leaving of life told much of how he lived his life, quietly and calmly, with kind words for all, with great courage and inner strength especially in accepting and coping with his difficult illness. We who are left have much to be grateful for the gentleness and kindness of wonderful family, friends and colleagues, for their hours of laughter and tears, for great deeds and small tasks, for feeding and sustaining us, for phoning, sending texts, letters, Mass Cards, for calling to ease our pain and continuing to do so. We extend our thanks to all the medical teams involved in Michael's care, Mr. C. Pidgeon, Dr. C. Faul, Dr. M. Keane, Dr. D. Waldron. We also thank our G.P. Dr. G. Brennan and Ann Maher, receptionist, H.S.E. West, especially Frances Brady, carer, Public Health Nurses, who, together with the Galway Hospice Home Care Team, enabled us to care for Michael at home. We can never forget Ina Curran who managed the office and greatly eased Michael's worries and concerns. We thank Michael's great friends, especially those in Galway Bay Sailing Club, for their regular visits, and who together with the "Bish" rowers provided Guards of Honour. We are most grateful to Fr. S. Laffan for facilitating Michael's funeral Service, also Fr. T. Plower and Fr. B. Flanagan for assisting. "Thank you", Vincent Jordan for so eloquently conveying Michael's influence in all our lives; also the musicians for the beautiful music which so well reflected Michael's interests and enhanced the Service. We thank all who contributed to SWAGAA in Michael's name. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, the Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
