Condolences from Canada

When I attended UCD in the 1980s, Treasa's unfailing sense of humour and warmth brought the bureaucratic inanities of the MPhil. programme into perspective. I recall with affection the café chats and late night telephone calls [Treasa seldom rang before 11]! On my last night in Ireland Des and Treasa bade farewell with a bottle of champagne. How I regret that I've never been able to return since.....

Tonight I'll raise a glass to Treasa and Des.

With sincere best wishes,

Mary Desmond [formerly Bentley], Shawnigan Lake, B.C.
