GAVIN C.S.Sp, Gavin C.S.Sp., Rev. Denis (Late of Blackrock College and Ballinaculla, Clonown, Athlone, Co. Roscommon) - Died on Friday 13th January 2023, Missionary in Ireland, Malawi, Nigeria and the USA, son of the late Denis and Mary Gavin. Predeceased by his brother Pat and sister Mary. Deeply regretted by his brother Michael, sisters Kathleen (USA) and Bridie (UK), sisters-in-law Helen and Carmel, brother-in-law Brendan, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, Spiritan confrères and his many friends. May he rest in peace. Funeral Mass in Holy Spirit Parish Church, Kimmage Manor at 11a.m on Tuesday 17th January, followed by burial in Clonown cemetery, Athlone at 2.15pm.

Father Gavin was a legend. One of the greats. I am sorry to learn of his passing. He celebrated my sister Catherine’s wedding Mass 7 years ago, to Barry Murphy. May he Rest In Peace. I have happy memories of him with us in class & on the rugby pitch.
