GALLAGHER, Colm (Los Angeles Ca. and formerly of Iona Villas Glasnevin Dublin). It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Colm Gallagher in Los Angeles on May 7, 2021. Colm was the eldest son of the late Colm Gallagher TD and Margaret (Peggy) Gallagher. He will be sadly missed by his family, Patricia, John, Sheila, Tim Snr, Ernie, Tim Jnr, Megan, the Ferry family (Los Angeles) and by his two brothers in Ireland Brendan and Kieran and their extended families. Predeceased by his longtime partner Helen and his sister Susan. Hopefully Colm will be up there with Helen dancing a "Reel in the Flickering Light" a song he wrote in the 1980's. Funeral will be held at St John Eudes Church, Chatsworth, California tomorrow (Thursday May 20) at 6.30 pm. Irish Time (10.30 am. Los Angeles time) Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

We’ve lost a truly gifted songwriter. I was privileged to perform with Colm years ago, and to sing backup on his recordings. He was direct in both praise and criticism; I learned a lot from him. Go on angel wings, old friend! Janet Cornwell

<p>Until we Meet again.....</p> <p>Great memories of our early years in Iona Villas, and long holidays on the beach in Portrane. Colm was a great, strong personality and a true friend, until I went to England with my family when I was fifteen in 1958. Colm is 16 days younger than me (16th Feb - 31st January). My Mom worked with Colm at West Hills Hospital. I was born 4 days before his Birthday. I'll always remember his lively warm and charismatic personality along with his love for music, Irish Culture, and the love of his life Helen. Chelsea B
