DOWLING, The death has occurred of Ethna Dowling (née Boden) Terenure, Dublin. Peacefully at St. Vincents University Hospital, predeceased by her beloved husband Jim, much loved mother of John and Tommy, cherished grandmother of Oscar, Lucy and Ciara and daughter-in-law Clíodhna. Ethna will be greatly missed by all her family, friends, wonderful neighbours, and former colleagues at Loreto College, Crumlin. Rest in Peace. Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, Willbrook, Rathfarnham today (Wednesday) (29th May) between 5 pm and 7 pm. Removal on (Thursday) morning (30th May) to St Joseph’s Church, Terenure, arriving at 9.45 am for Funeral Mass at 10 am, followed by cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold's Cross. Family flowers only, please. Donations if desired to Cheeverstown House.

So sad reading of Ethna’s death. I first met Ethna and her late husband Jim on their visits to the Gate Theatre. Ethna and I then shared the same hairdresser. She was a charming and elegant lady who will be missed. Sincere sympathy to her family.
