A dear school friend

My deepest sympathies to the Butler family. Eddie was one of my favourite people in Newbridge College, where we went to school together. He was kind, funnny, fair and modest, and yet had an incredible spirit and drive. His love of horses was matched only by his love of family and friends. I will always be grateful for the kindness he showed to me, when I arrived in Newbridge as a lonely border, knowing nobody, and missing my home across the mountains. He made his home my home, for some lovely visits, and the kindness you all show me, confirmed that his best qualities were actually family qualities - and I know his children will grow up being proud of their father - despite missing him so much.

With Deepest Sympathy

A wonderful husband, father and brother and son. Will be missed by thousands in the racing world. We have wonderful memories of Eddie at Lingfield Park over the years and at Goffs Sales last year. Always full of fun.

There will never be such a wonderful person like Eddie again. May He Rest in Peace.

All the family are in our prayers at this very sad time.

Liz and Jo Crowley

Whitcombe Monymusk Racing Stables
