GANTLY Joe (Bayside, Sutton) July 30, 2019 - On Joe's First Anniversary, Mary, Karen, David and all his family would like to express our thanks to our wonderful family and friends who travelled from around Ireland and abroad to be here with us for his funeral. We would like to thank all who sent so many lovely messages of condolence, Mass cards and letters, which were very comforting to us. A special word of thanks to Joe's dear friends in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, his colleagues in Fiat Ireland and his many friends in the motor industry both in Ireland and overseas. Also, his lifelong friend David in Canada and his dear cousin Fergus. We would also like to thank the medical and nursing staff in Beaumont Hospital and the kind and professional care of Kirwans, Fairview, for guiding us through this very sad time. Joe was a wonderful husband, father and grandad and a great friend to so many. We love and miss him so much and he will be forever in our hearts and memories. Thank you all for your friendship and support. The holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

One of the good ones, Gentleman Joe is a great loss. From our schooldays and the short trips home between Fairview and Killester on the GNR bus to our recent chats it has been a privilege to have had him as a friend.

We will miss the warm, kind, always enjoyable, trusted, caring, principled, thoughtful and brotherly presence of a life-long friend. The world was a much kinder place because of Joe. Childhood on Furry Park road was a joy. Ever loved.
